This a tour of Aphios Corporation's facilities that were at 3-E Gill Street, Woburn, MA. These facilities and its contents were contaminated by fine lead powder emanating from the New England Lead Burning Company (NELCO) which was located in the same building but separated by a west demising wall. The lead infiltrated Aphios' facilities through cracks in the demising wall, cracks between the demising wall and the corrugated roof, and their exhaust vent and our HVAC systems on the roof. The lead concentrations were measured to be as high as 37,900 ug/ft2. The EPA recommended levels are 10 ug/ft2 and are being reduced to 3 ug/ft2. According to the FDA, no level of lead is acceptable. The facilities were emptied to be remediated by the property owner, Cummings Properties Limited after two years of negotiation for the space to be remediated. We were subsequently evicted by Cummings for our refusal to continuing paying rent for facilities which we could not occupy and had not occupied for almost two years.
