Did They Get Jimmy Stewart's WW2 Story Right? | JIMMY 2026 Trailer Breakdown

The new JIMMY (2026) biopic trailer is out — and as a WW2 historian and huge fan of WW2 related movies, I wanted to dig into whether this film actually does justice to one of the most remarkable — and overlooked — military careers in American history.

Jimmy Stewart wasn't just Hollywood royalty. He was a volunteer USAAF bomber pilot who flew 20 combat missions over occupied Europe, rose to the rank of Colonel, and came home a broken man — only to deliver one of cinema's most iconic performances in It's a Wonderful Life. This is a story that deserves to be told right.

In this video I break down the official JIMMY trailer, examine the WW2 history behind it, and ask the question that matters — did they get it right?
