Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced a big relief for the agriculture sector with a major cut in GST rates for farm equipment. Tractors, agricultural, horticultural, and forestry machines for soil preparation, cultivation, harvesting, and threshing will now be taxed at just 5%, down from 12%. This also includes straw and fodder balers, grass or hay movers, and composting machines.
